How we handle your information at Now In Store.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Now In Store Inc. ("Now In Store", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares and protects information when you use nowinstore.com and our products, including Now In Store, Foldsquare and Flook (together, the "Services"), and when you use the Services through an AI assistant such as ChatGPT or Claude.

Our Services are made for businesses. The merchant who creates an account is the "customer"; the people who view a catalog a customer publishes are "viewers".

2. Information we collect

Account information. Your name, email address, password (stored only as a salted hash), business name and the answers you give in the sign-up survey.

Store and product information. When you connect an online store (for example Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Ecwid or Wix), we receive the store's address, an access token the store issues to us, and your product data: titles, descriptions, prices, variants, inventory, images and collections. You can also add products to Foldsquare directly.

Content you create. Your catalogs, pages, designs, uploaded images and fonts, and the instructions you give our in-app assistant or an AI assistant connected to your account.

Billing information. Your plan and billing history. Card payments are handled by Stripe, or by your store platform when you are billed through it; we do not receive or store full card numbers.

Catalog analytics and leads. When viewers open a catalog you published, we record views, pages viewed, product clicks, device type, referring site and approximate location (country and city, derived from the IP address). If you turn on a catalog's lead form, we collect what viewers enter in it (such as their name, email and company) on your behalf.

Technical information. Log data such as IP address, browser, operating system and the pages you visit, and error reports.

Cookies. We use cookies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, measure how the Site is used and attribute sign-ups to the campaigns that brought them. You can block cookies in your browser; parts of the Services will then not work.

3. How we use information

  • To provide the Services: build, render, host and publish your catalogs, keep products in sync with your store, and deliver the PDFs, links and analytics you ask for.
  • To perform the actions you ask an AI assistant to take on your account. We use only the information needed for that action.
  • To bill you and manage your plan.
  • To support you, answer your requests and send service emails about your account.
  • To keep the Services secure, prevent abuse and fix errors.
  • To understand how the Services are used, in aggregate, and improve them.
  • To send product news if you have not opted out. Every such email has an unsubscribe link.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

4. AI assistants

You can connect an AI assistant, such as ChatGPT or Claude, to your account. You choose to connect it and approve the access it asks for on a consent screen. Once connected, the assistant can read and change your catalogs and products within that access, and each request it makes carries only what that action needs. The results we return, for example a list of your catalogs or a rendered page, are then processed by the assistant's provider under that provider's own privacy policy.

You can disconnect an assistant at any time from the assistant's settings; it then loses access to your account. Our own in-app assistant sends your requests and the relevant catalog content to our AI model provider (Google) to generate its answers.

5. Who we share information with

We share information only as needed to provide the Services:

  • Service providers who process it on our behalf and under our instructions: cloud hosting, storage and email (Amazon Web Services), database hosting (MongoDB Atlas), payments (Stripe), error monitoring (Sentry), website analytics (Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity), customer support (Zoho Desk) and AI models (Google).
  • Your store platform, when you connect a store, to read and sync your products.
  • AI assistants you connect, as described in section 4.
  • Viewers, who see the catalogs you choose to publish.
  • Authorities, when the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our users or the public.
  • A buyer or successor, if our business is sold or merged, under the same protections as this policy.

6. How long we keep information

We keep your account information and content for as long as your account is open. When you delete a catalog, it is removed from your account. When you close your account or ask us to delete your data, we delete your personal information and content, except where we must keep some of it to meet legal, tax or accounting obligations or to resolve disputes. Copies in our backups are overwritten on their normal cycle. Leads collected by your catalogs are kept until you delete them or your account.

7. Your choices and rights

You can see and change your account information in your settings, disconnect your store or an AI assistant, and unsubscribe from marketing emails. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, or to object to or restrict how we use it. To make a request, email info@nowinstore.com. We will answer within 30 days.

If you collect viewers' information through a catalog's lead form, you are responsible for telling them how you use it; we process it only to provide it to you.

8. Security

Information travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Passwords are stored only as salted hashes. Access to production systems is limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your information, we will tell you as the law requires.

9. International transfers

We store and process information in the United States. If you use the Services from elsewhere, your information is transferred to the United States.

10. Children

The Services are for businesses and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Third-party websites

Catalogs and our Site may link to other websites, such as a merchant's online store. Their own privacy policies govern what they do with your information.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We will change the date below and, if a change is significant, tell customers by email or in the Services before it takes effect.
